2005 May Cup - Notice of Regatta May 4, 11, 18, 25
Rules:
The U.S. Sailing Association's Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 edition will govern this regatta.
Eligibility
Breakwater Yacht Club members in good standing having paid the entry fee of 30.00 and signed the captains waiver, and provided proof of insurance are eligible. ELISA PHRF 2005 certificates must be submitted before 5/25/05 in order for a boat to be scored. Visiting yachts may enter at a cost of $10.00 per individual race. They must provide proof of insurance and hold a valid PHRF certificate or be a stock (non-customized) boat with an easily obtainable rating. Visiting yacht entries must be submitted by 5 PM on the day of the race that vessel plans to sail.
Divisions:
Division splits to be announced based on entries. Non- Spinnaker divisions only.
Registration:
Must be completed in advance on the attached form and submitted with the proper fee, ELISA PHRF 2005 certificate and insurance form. Yachts planning to sail one night only must declare their intention to race at the BYC before 5 pm. that evening to avoid confusion, no entry or declaration will be accepted by the R.C. boat
No boat will be scored with out a valid paid entry in hand prior to the race your time will not be taken there will be no retroactive scoring.
Entry is good for the yacht named on the entry only -no substitutions allowed. Entries can be mailed to Carol Morse 421 North Main Street Southampton, N.Y. 11968
Measurement:
A valid ELISA PHRF 2005 certificate must be submitted
Courses:
All races will be run in Shelter Island Sound. A course sheet and race instructions will be handed out prior to the first race although a course board on the committee boat may be utilized.
Start
The first gun will be sounded at 6:00 PM local time in the area west of Majors Cove in Shelter Island Sound.
Scoring:
The low point scoring system (U.S. Sailing rules Appendix A) will be used. One throw out will be used.
Prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in both divisions
