2007 Midget Challenge Results:
On Wednesday, August 15th, we sent 13 Junior sailors ages 14 and under to the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT to represent Eastern Long Island. There were a total of four sailing associations represented and our sailors finished third.
Our representation was:
- 4 from Orient YC
- 3 from Southold YC
- 2 from Old Cove YC
- 4 from Mattituck YC
- 13 Total
Endless thanks to Mike Spicer of Southold YC and James Morton of Orient YC, who were the two sailing instructors accompanying their own sailors to New London. Mike and James were both invaluable coaches helping all 13 sailors rig their FJ sailboats and answer their questions.
The day was another valuable sailing experience for our Junior sailors
